Your impact As an Entry Level Engineer based in our Boston office, you'll support Jacobs' remediation and regeneration and water businesses, with a particular focus on emerging contaminants, such as PFAs. You'll be involved in projects for both private and federal clients, supporting work related to environmental assessment, site characterization, treatment, remediation, monitoring, regulatory engagement, and technical reporting. This role will be approximately 80% office based, with up to 20% travel locally and within North America. Field work may include characterizing soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and treated discharge, collecting air samples, and performing routine sampling and testing in either a lead or support role. You'll also oversee specialty subcontractors performing maintenance, investigation, drilling, survey, and remediation work. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to the development of technical documents such as field logs, health and safety documentation, work plans, investigation reports, monitoring reports, remediation reports, regulatory submittals, and other client deliverables. We'll rely on you to complete tasks within schedule and budget with a variety of teams from different disciplines and backgrounds and communicate the status of tasks to project managers. Here's What You'll Need:
At least one year of experience working on environmental investigation, remediation and/or construction sites, or in a similar environmental-related field Master's degree or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science Experience with using Microsoft Office-based software, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of coding languages such as R and Python is a plus. Valid driver's license with no major infractions. Must be a United States Citizen An understanding of the implications of environmental regulations. Knowledge of environmental compliance and client interactions/relationships. Basic knowledge of federal and state level environmental regulations. Ability to perform field work and regional travel 90% to 100% of the time. Ability to obtain/maintain 40-hr HAZWOPER
certification. Ideally, You'll Also Have:
Currently located in the Boston Massachusetts Area Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Ability to actively work outdoors throughout the year Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Technical and mechanical capabilities. Strong attention to detail. Ability to handle changes in the field and respond appropriately to internal, client, and regulatory driven requests. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
