Work Schedule:
Normal business hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm; however, schedule is relatively flexible. The part-time schedule is for 29 hours weekly, totaling 58 hours biweekly.Our Total Compensation Package:
Compensation- competitive market-rate pay, and negotiable based on qualifications.
Conferences Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates preparedness, planning, response, recovery, and mitigation of natural disasters, man-made disasters, technological hazards, acts of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, wartime events, or planned activities with various local, state, and federal government, and non-governmental agencies. Prepares for and may respond to emergencies involving evacuations, shelter operations, searches, heavy or technical rescue, underwater rescue and recovery, hazardous materials releases, clandestine drug laboratories, etc. providing coordination and support of on-scene operations. Travels to sites of emergencies and training sites using a county vehicle. Maintains general emergency response vehicles, trailers, and equipment. Performs related work as assigned.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in emergency management or related discipline. Two (2) years of emergency management or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Certifications and Licenses:
South Carolina Certified Emergency Manager Certification preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.Physical Demands:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy. Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. Involves routine and frequent exposure to: Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen. Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions. Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.
