Entry Level Environmental Scientist (Chattanooga)

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental remediation and regulatory compliance. Experience providing field oversight of remedial action construction activities, including maintaining detailed logs, performing QA/QC, ensuring compliance with site-specific health and safety plans and applicable regulations, and contributing to long-term environmental restoration goals. Strong team player. Core Responsibilities / Competencies Provide field oversight of remedial action construction activities, including observation and documentation of work performed by contractors. Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of field activities and associated documentation. Assist in monitoring compliance with approved health and safety plans (e.g., HASP). Maintain detailed field logs and documentation, including daily observations, stakeholder interactions, results of field testing, and conformance with approved project plans (e.g., RAWP, QAPP, HASP). Document and communicate deviations from approved plans, including supporting records such as field notebooks, logs, photographs, and/or videography, as appropriate. Perform additional remedial action oversight and technical support activities. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or closely related field. Valid drivers license is required. Ideally you'll also have: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety CPR/First Aid Certified Experience conducting environmental monitoring and Sampling Experience (groundwater, soil, and/or sediment) Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams toward a common goal. QA/QC Oversight and Documentation Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.
