A growing global manufacturing company is seeking an Environmental Sr. Specialist to join its EHS team. This role will be responsible for leading environmental compliance initiatives, supporting
ISO 14001
programs, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations within a large manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of environmental permitting, compliance programs, inspections, reporting, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and support the site Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) Manage air permitting and compliance activities including permit applications, renewals, modifications, emissions calculations, and recordkeeping Support stormwater compliance including SWPPP management, BMP implementation, inspections, sampling, DMR submissions, and corrective actions Manage wastewater compliance activities including sampling, monitoring, reporting, permits, and regulator coordination Oversee industrial waste, scrap, and recycling programs Ensure proper waste labeling, storage, inspections, and disposal coordination Maintain SDS library and chemical inventory Review and approve new chemicals and support hazard communication programs Maintain SPCC plans and support spill prevention and response activities Lead environmental inspections, investigations, and corrective actions Train employees on environmental procedures, waste handling, and spill response Stay current on environmental laws and regulations and support ongoing compliance initiatives Partner closely with operations and leadership to support a safe and environmentally compliant workplace
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or related field 2+ years of environmental compliance experience within a manufacturing environment Experience with
ISO 14001
programs Experience managing TDEC air, stormwater, and wastewater permits Strong understanding of environmental regulations, inspections, reporting, and compliance programs Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work both in office and throughout a manufacturing facility
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hazardous waste and industrial waste management Manufacturing industry experience preferred Certifications such as
CPESC, RCRA, DOT
Hazmat, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, CHMM, or SPCC are a plus
