Job Description

Environmental Field Specialist Location:
Houston, Texas Duration:
6-8 months
Rate:
$75 per hour Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to provide field-based environmental support for pipeline interconnections and industrial site work. This contract role focuses on environmental sampling, waste management, regulatory coordination, and compliance documentation, working closely with project teams and contractors. The position requires a strong hands-on presence in the field and the ability to manage environmental activities from planning through execution. Key Responsibilities Support environmental coordination for pipeline interconnections and associated site work Conduct field sampling (soil, waste, and related materials) and manage sample logistics Coordinate with laboratories to obtain and review analytical data Identify and secure appropriate landfill space and manage disposal activities Coordinate overall waste disposition, including transportation and final disposal Work directly with state environmental field personnel during inspections and site visits Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly activities with the project team and contractors Support incident investigations related to environmental or waste management issues Organize and maintain compliance documentation for waste shipments and manifests Ensure activities comply with applicable environmental regulations and site requirements Prepare reports, logs, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools Required Qualifications Background in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline Demonstrated experience performing environmental field work Practical knowledge of waste management and disposal processes Experience interacting with environmental regulatory agencies Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work independently in the field Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company-provided vehicle Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting pipeline, industrial, or construction-related projects Familiarity with waste manifesting and compliance documentation Prior involvement in incident investigation and corrective action Experience working in fast-paced, multi-contractor project environments With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
