Environmental Test Technician

Environmental Technician opening with an environmental consulting firm in Crown Point, IN. Entry-level position with comprehensive training and opportunity for advancement to Test Engineer I role ($26.00/hour) within 6-to-12 months. Field-based role

• candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and able to travel when scheduled for non-local projects.

Responsibilities:

Perform air emissions testing and monitoring services at a variety of client industrial facilities. Transport and set up testing equipment using a company vehicle; dismantle equipment post-testing. Record and analyze data, collect samples. Calibrate testing equipment and assist engineers in conducting air quality testing procedures. Adhere to environmental, health, and safety protocols. Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming assignments. Maintain and clean testing equipment. Gain proficiency in EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field is preferred. Previous experience working in a field-based role. Team player with strong initiative and communication skills Able to travel Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Project Manager. Company vehicle provided for travel. All travel time, expenses, lodging + additional $72 per diem are paid by company. Typical travel projects require 2-to-4 days out of town during the standard work week. Frequent overtime required when traveling, paid at 1.5x rate.
