Responsibilities:
As an Asbestos Project Monitor, your expertise will be critical in ensuring projects are executed safely and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform asbestos inspections and regulated building material surveys Conduct air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects, including PCM sampling and clearance testing Collect bulk samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials in accordance with regulatory requirements Provide on-site oversight of abatement activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and health & safety protocols Maintain detailed field notes, logs, and daily reports documenting site activities and findings Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and clients to support successful project execution Review laboratory data and assist in preparing technical reports and clearance documentation Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and applicable state guidelines Calibrate and maintain air monitoring and sampling equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability Travel to project sites, working across commercial, industrial, and residential environments
Qualifications:
We're seeking a motivated professional with strong technical expertise and attention to detail.
Ideal candidates will have:
Minimum of an Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience in asbestos monitoring, industrial hygiene, or environmental consulting Active Asbestos Project Monitor license (required); additional certifications such as Inspector or Designer are a plus Strong knowledge of asbestos regulations and industry standards (OSHA, EPA, state-specific requirements) Experience with air sampling methods, clearance testing, and abatement oversight Ability to accurately document field activities and prepare clear, concise reports Proficiency with environmental sampling equipment, including air pumps and monitoring devices Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced field environments Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in lead, mold, or hazardous materials Experience with a variety of building types (commercial, healthcare, industrial, residential) Familiarity with regulatory reporting and project documentation requirements OSHA 40-hour
HAZWOPER
certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay Range:
