Job Description
The Reliability Lab Operator I will perform equipment set-ups and operate various environmental stress and reliability test equipment in the Environmental Stress Screening and Reliability Lab area. The Operator will also record the results of a variety of environmental and mechanical sequence tests. Responsibilities Operates various environmental stress equipment, such as temperature cycling chambers, centrifuges, fine and gross leak preconditioning equipment, fine and gross leak detectors, etc.
Selects semiconductor component samples from production lots and performs reliability testing using a variety of environmental and mechanical test equipment designed to validate the quality and reliability of the components.
Runs reliability tests that include marking permanency (resistance to solvents), bond pull, solderability, die shear, hermeticity (fine and gross leak), temperature cycling, thermal shock, moisture resistance, constant acceleration (centrifuge), mechanical shock, salt atmosphere, lead integrity, physical dimensions, lid torque, and variable frequency vibration.
Perform outgoing visual inspections.
Ensure proper handling, use, and disposal of chemicals.
Accurately process documentation and record keeping.
Performs scheduled 5S in the reliability lab.
Maintains inventory control for materials and hardware.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
No prior experience is required, as on-the-job training will be provided. However, prior experience in electronics manufacturing is a plus; or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understanding of how to read a Statistical Process Control (SPC) chart, preferred.
Ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks accurately and with attention to detailDemonstrated ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently, learn concepts and operate tools, perform basic mathematical functions.
Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skillsBasic computer skills, such as MS Word & ExcelAbility to process documents and keep meticulous recordsAbility to organize and maintain a safe and clean workplaceA high degree of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity is required (must be able to manipulate small, delicate samples with small tweezers while observing under a microscope)Comfortable with assorted benchtop test equipment or willing to learn.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9120 or TS16949 is a plus.
