We're looking for a Testing Lab Technician to join our dynamic Research & Development Testing Lab. If you're curious, hands-on, and eager to be part of a team that's shaping the future of coatings technology, we want to meet you! What You'll Do In this role, you'll get hands-on with our industry-leading coatings and support our product development process from start to finish. You'll test, measure, mix, and apply, all while working alongside a team of brilliant chemists and technicians. Think of it as being part lab scientist, part coatings artist, and all-around innovator.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical testing and quality evaluations on new and existing coatings. Measure and document color and gloss change for accuracy Document change with a camera and hyperlink changes to projects Rotate and monitor test panels to evaluate environmental effects on coatings. Use lab equipment, scales, mixers, and computers to analyze and report findings. Maintain Specialized testing equipment Maintain detailed, organized records (lab books and digital). Assist with exposure testing and data collection to support product improvements. Tools of the Trade You'll have access to a variety of lab and coatings equipment, including: Scales, mixers, and testing panels Color computer Drum dollies and lab safety gear What We're Looking For We're not just looking for lab experience, we're looking for someone who loves learning, thrives in a team, and is ready to roll up their sleeves (literally).
Ideal Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (required) Strong math and basic computer skills Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for extended periods Good problem-Solving skills Mechanically inclined is a bonus (not required) Safety First At Tnemec, safety is a core value.
