POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the general upkeep and maintenance of the laboratories, includes routine cleaning house keeping and calibration of basic instruments. The incumbent will receive, inspect, sort and label client samples. Reagent ordering and delivering to the right team.

Must be able to follow standard procedures, communicate with all levels and a strong team player. Follow Training SOP for training and training records.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Major job duty is executing sample preparation and breakdown by tools ex. cutting, scraping, smashing, crushing…. Participate in maintain and calibration of basic instruments such as balance and water system as assigned by Metrology Manager calibrations according to established procedures. Cleaning of the lab and removing of all the waste containers Discard solvent waste, acid waste, cytotoxic waste in the lab, Check and maintain the desiccators Maintain the fridge. Refill all the lab suppliers - paper towel, gloves Maintain and clean the fume hoods, dissolution baths, sonicators, water bath and other instruments Cleaning the glassware Maintain equipment in good order and in compliance with SOPs Keep the work area clean and organized e.g., immediately clean up spills, dispose of waste according to laboratory procedures, remove expired reagents and chemicals Stage samples and work packages for release into the laboratory for testing Maintain clean and stocked workstations ensuring spills are immediately cleaned; hazardous waste disposal according to laboratory procedures, glassware is appropriately handled, and lab solutions are replaced. Maintain good housekeeping, schedule and monitor housekeeping activities Follow pre-established laboratory cleaning schedules Refill all necessary chemicals, reagent, water. Perform other assigned lab duties as per required time intervals and within scope of skill and ability of the incumbent Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

High School Diploma

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Candidates must be able to use basic types of computer software (Word & Outlook). Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition. Ability to work well with others & independently. Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail. Works well under pressure. Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time. Travel to other SGS locations or client locations may be required from time to time. Ensures full compliance with the company's Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies. Appropriate attitude, constant vigilance, attention to detail and following Training SOP for training and training records. Pay Range $16.00-$21.00/ hour Additional Information Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $16.00 to $21.00 per hour. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
