Job Description

Entry Level Test Technician MGA Research Corporation - Irving Texas Have you ever heard of crash testing? Curious about what working with dummies and high tech instruments is like? MGA is looking for a test technician to help test aircraft, and automotive components. The technician will have the opportunity to be a part of the team that helps with the safety and durability testing that happens "behind the curtains" during the research and development of new aircraft & automotive components. As exciting as this can be, it is still a very challenging job. The technician will be responsible for assisting our engineers to properly carry out tests. This process includes but is not limited to: Interacting with multicultural team members and customers Instrumenting test articles per the customer's request Measuring and photographing test samples Set-up & Tear down of test articles Fabrication to facilitate testing and our day to day operations Ensure the working environment is safe, and clean at all times. As an MGA employee, you will be given the opportunity to expand your mechanical skill set, as well as to get a better understanding of the industries we provide our services to. This is an entry-level position. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and be a part of a team. Applicants must be comfortable in a hands-on environment and must have some relevant experience. We are currently looking for a candidate who will be able to take charge of shipping and receiving and assist with equipment maintenance. Looking for applicants that are willing to train 3 months in our WI lab.
Required skills for the position:
Strong Knowledge of hand tools Machine shop experience with MIG welding, lathes, milling machines, drill presses and saws Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their maintenance is a plus Familiar with basic computer systems (Microsoft word, excel, etc..) Have a good sense of proper documentation & organization Ability to handle sensitive instrumentation with care Ability to follow instructions, and procedures Being self motivated and able to work independently as needed Being able to work in a project based environment Willingness to work extra hours to finish the tasks at hand Willingness to work occasional night shifts and weekend shifts as needed' Lab experience is a plus Willing to spend 3 months training in our WI lab '
