MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The techs conduct lab tests that involve slurried cement, water and drilling fluids by following standard lab testing procedures. They are responsible for inputting lab data into the proper client reports, record observations on lab documents, capture pictures (when necessary). Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness. Duties relating to lab testing include mixing dry cement and chemicals with water to make cement slurries, mixing spacer surfactants with spacer gels to test oil based mud and spacer compatibilities. Operate standard oilfield lab equipment such as a cement consistometers, pressurized fluid loss cells, bench top rheometers (viscometers), non-destructive compressive strength analyzers, performing water analysis on field water samples, etc.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements:
Current Texas driver's license Must provide own transportation to work facility Read and write English Pre-employment drug screening and background check Able to follow directions with attention to detail Basic computer operating skills Lift 10-30 lbs above the waist (equipment operation-related movements)Qualifications:
High School Diploma OR Equivalent is required Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.Experience:

Carry out assigned tests with minimal supervision and properly document all results and/or observations. Follow predefined testing procedures and methods. Prioritize and complete tasks assigned. Follow company security policies, protect all test data and company property. Assist others with daily tasks, as well as short and long-term projects. Maintain concise and organized laboratory documents. Log in ALL samples as they are received, ensuring each is properly labeled and stored. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory. Ensure all chemicals are properly stored and maintain chemical inventory. Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation. Safely operate standard oilfield testing equipment. Process/input test data to the proper database, compose plots and graphs, and organize data for client reports. Capture images and/or video for reports. Calculate concentrations and mix test fluids. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain proper communication between supervisors and coworkers. Assist supervisors and team on projects.WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk for long hours; lift up to 30 pounds. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop or kneel.Job Type:
