Public Health Environmentalist

Job Summary A Public Health Environmentalist typically works at a county health department and inspects restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, and tattoo facilities. They will also review applications for a septic tank system including checking soils and site conditions on building lots; investigate foodborne and waterborne outbreaks; investigate reports of animal bites for rabies control; and much more. We are hiring for this position in several Alabama counties. Responsibilities Perform inspections on septic tank systems, food establishments, body art facilities, lodging accommodations, and solid waste facilities. Investigate and prepare reports related to rabies control, foodborne outbreaks, and public health nuisances. Communicate with the public to provide education and interpretation of public health rules and regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of 20 semester hours of coursework in biology, chemistry, environmental science, mathematics, or physical science. Pay:

$37,440.00 - $72,504.00 per year
