Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preventing and controlling infections within our facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and staff. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control practices, data collection, and patient observation in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, acute care, and critical care environments. Must be an active Licensed Vocational Nurse. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies and procedures to minimize the risk of infections. Conduct regular surveillance of infection rates within the facility and analyze data to identify trends. Perform thorough documentation reviews to ensure compliance with infection control standards. Collaborate with healthcare staff to educate them on best practices for infection prevention. Participate in patient observation to assess compliance with infection control protocols. Provide training sessions for staff on infection control measures and protocols. Stay updated on current regulations and guidelines related to infection control in healthcare settings. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and its application in infection prevention. Experience working in skilled nursing facilities or hospitals is preferred. Proficient in patient observation techniques to identify potential risks. Excellent data collection skills for accurate reporting and analysis. Understanding of acute care practices and critical care environments. Ability to conduct thorough documentation reviews with attention to detail.
