Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Educator / Infection Preventionist, where you will play a vital role in promoting excellence in infection control and staff education across diverse clinical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead infection prevention initiatives, develop comprehensive care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. You will serve as a key resource in fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help safeguard patient health while advancing organizational goals through innovative education and meticulous infection prevention strategies. Duties Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention programs aligned with current public health guidelines and OSHA standards. Conduct thorough data collection and analysis related to infection rates, microbiology reports, and epidemiology trends to inform best practices. Lead staff education sessions on topics such as aseptic technique, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and infectious disease care to enhance clinical competencies. Monitor patient care activities by observing patient interactions, reviewing medical records, and ensuring adherence to care plans and documentation review protocols. Manage medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining accurate documentation of infection control measures and patient monitoring activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop targeted care plans that incorporate infection control principles and public health strategies. Oversee management of infection control supplies, ensure proper handling per OSHA standards, and facilitate ongoing staff training on safety procedures. Experience Proven experience in critical care environments such as hospital settings or Level I/Level II trauma centers with a focus on acute care or medical-surgical units. Demonstrated expertise in assisted living facilities or long-term care environments with a strong understanding of patient observation and care planning. Extensive background in infectious disease management, microbiology, epidemiology, and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Prior leadership experience in nursing or healthcare management roles with a focus on infection prevention or staff education. Familiarity with data management systems related to MDS (Minimum Data Set), medical records documentation, and healthcare data collection tools. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology principles, and public health policies relevant to infection control. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly while fostering teamwork and compliance among diverse healthcare professionals. $90,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
