Job Description

Infection Preventionist / Staffing Coordinator Employees are our most valuable asset! We Value You! Integrity Healthcare of Marion has an immediate openings for full-time Infection Preventionist / Staffing Coordinator The Infection Preventionist / Staffing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state regulations, while also coordinating daily staffing to ensure safe, adequate, and compliant staffing levels for all departments. This role plays a critical part in resident safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency Infection Preventionist Duties Develop, implement, and maintain an Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with F880 regulations. Conduct ongoing surveillance of infections, communicable diseases, and antibiotic use. Track, trend, and analyze infection data; prepare reports for QAPI meetings. Ensure adherence to standard and transmission-based precautions . Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices. Oversee outbreak management, including reporting to local/state health departments. Collaborate with the medical director, pharmacy, and nursing team on antibiotic stewardship . Monitor hand hygiene compliance and PPE use. Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization practices. Maintain required logs, documentation, and reporting per regulatory standards. Stay current with guidance from CMS, CDC, and local health authorities. Staffing Coordinator Duties Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules for nursing staff. Ensure staffing meets regulatory requirements and acuity-based needs. Manage call-offs, replacements, and last-minute scheduling adjustments. Coordinate use of agency staff as needed while controlling labor costs. Monitor overtime, attendance, and staffing patterns. Maintain staffing records for compliance and audits. Communicate staffing needs with leadership (DON/Administrator). Participate in hiring processes as needed (interviews, onboarding coordination). Ensure compliance with facility staffing policies and state/federal guidelines. Qualifications Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN) preferred. Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control (per CMS requirements). Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred. Knowledge of CMS regulations, including F-Tags related to infection control and staffing. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of infection control principles and epidemiology. Proficiency in scheduling software and EMR systems. Ability to analyze data and implement performance improvement initiatives. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective leadership and staff education abilities. Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout the facility. Ability to lift, bend, and assist as needed in a clinical environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. Working Conditions May require flexibility in hours to address staffing needs or infection control issues. #IND1
