Responsibilities Some of the responsibilities of the Infection Preventionist include: Monitor healthcare-associated infections. Assess infection prevention problems and makes recommendations for corrective action. Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures. Conduct outbreak investigation and initiates control measures. And report communicable diseases to the state as required by law.
