Role:
Join Shoreline Post Acute, a forward-thinking healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our patients, as our new Infection Preventionist! As a critical member of our infection prevention and control team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and preventing the spread of infections in our healthcare facility. Based in Toledo, OH, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters growth and development.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective infection prevention and control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices Conduct regular surveillance and monitoring of infection rates, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to reduce infections Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address potential infection control risks, providing education and guidance on proper infection prevention practices Develop and maintain accurate records and reports of infection control activities, including investigations and surveillance data Implement and maintain infection control policies and procedures for isolation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterilization/disinfection Participate in facility-wide quality improvement initiatives, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance patient care Stay current with industry developments, research, and regulatory changes, applying new knowledge to improve infection prevention practices
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nursing, infection prevention, public health, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 1-2 years of experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting Certification in infection prevention and control (CIC) or willingness to obtain within 1 year Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
