Role:

We are seeking a distinguished scientific leader to establish and drive our nutrition science and product formulation strategy. This role requires deep technical expertise, industry credibility, and established relationships within the scientific community to position Vitamin World as a trusted, science-led brand.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Strategic Leadership & Scientific Vision Define product strategy and formulation direction grounded in nutrition science, aligned with market opportunities and consumer needs Build and lead a science-based R D and formulation function from the ground up Establish scientific credibility and differentiation in nutrition and formulation science across the brand External Engagement & Thought Leadership Serve as the scientific face of the brand at industry conferences, webinars, trade events, and customer meetings Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, research institutions, and industry experts Participate in scientific advisory initiatives, including potential advisory board appointments Stay current on regulatory updates, clinical research, and industry developments Innovation & Pipeline Development Create new products and reformulations that are on-trend and scientifically robust Develop differentiated, high-performance product platforms that drive competitive advantage Build and manage a robust innovation pipeline from concept to commercialization Scientific Validation & Claims Substantiation Evaluate the robustness of scientific studies supporting product claims for labels and advertising Create structure/function claims and develop scientific rationales to support them Maintain a comprehensive scientific substantiation database for all product claims Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution Lead project management and innovation meetings, communicating initiatives clearly to cross-functional partners and VW Leadership Drive internal teams and external vendors to launch new products and reformulations on schedule Create product briefs and information sheets for Retail, E-comm, B2B, and Marketing teams Documentation & Quality Assurance Maintain and manage new product and reformulation documentation across all categories Coordinate product samples, tasting/sensory evaluations, and communicate results to vendors Support quality documentation review and compliance initiatives

Qualifications:

PhD in Nutrition Science, Food Science, or Chemistry 8+ years of experience in dietary supplement or nutraceutical Established network of scientific and nutraceutical industry experts Demonstrated track record of translating scientific insight into commercial success Knowledge of dietary supplement regulations and structure/function claims. Experience creating scientific marketing materials and sell sheets. Knowledge of FDA, Vitamin Supplements and Sport Nutrition regulations.
