R D.JOB SUMMARY
The Contract Sensory Panelist is responsible for objectively evaluating food products for appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture, with a requirement for strong sensory acuity and the ability to consistently apply standardized tasting methods.
Please note: This is a temporary external worker position, and hires will be employed by a third-party staffing company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage in team discussions and activities to objectively describe food products
- Taste and objectively assess food samples from an appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture standpoint
- Enter data in computer system
- Work schedule is fixed 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Breaks will be provided to avoid tasting fatigue.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, Experience and Knowledge):
- Ability to safely and effectively taste a wide variety of food products
- Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate taste attributes of food products, including identifying subtle flavor differences and documenting observations using standardized methods,
- Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate aromas and scents of food products, including identifying subtle differences and documenting observations using standardized methods.
- Ability to accurately evaluate texture and visual characteristics of food products, including consistency, structure, and appearance, and to document observations using standardized methods.
- Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate colors and their variations in food products, including identifying subtle differences in hue, intensity, and consistency, and documenting observations using standardized methods.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete routine tasks quickly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in English, sufficient to participate in group discussions and engage in written communication
- Enthusiasm and ability to participate effectively in group discussions, achieve consensus, and collaborate with group members
- Basic computer skills, including email and data entry
- No prior experience as a taster is required as training will be provided
