Onsite Responsibilities Assist other scientists on high complexity initiatives and lead workstreams within larger projects, or manage low complexity initiatives with guidance. Maintain compliance with GMPs, food safety, and people safety protocols in the lab and pilot plant environments. Create trial plans and test protocols, document experiments, analyze data, and develop SOPs to ensure consistency and quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists and engineers, to develop samples and prototypes using various technologies and techniques. Learn to operate, maintain, and document procedures for lab and pilot plant equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. Present findings, results, and next steps through reports and team meetings. Perform administrative and training tasks as needed, including GMP and pilot plant training. Requirements Ability to develop and execute designed experiments on pilot scale equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with allergens including dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, eggs, and other food ingredient chemicals, while wearing PPE. Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple priorities and changing work environments. General knowledge of food GMPs. Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering related field is desirable. Experience in food industry R D, particularly with hard candy and gummies technology, is a plus. Willingness to travel up to 50% to manufacturing sites outside Hershey, PA, including Canada and Mexico. Ability to work overtime when required.
