From roadway to runway or full terminal design, we'll take your career to new heights! Your Opportunity In the capacity of Airport Electrical Engineer, you will interface directly with clients and stakeholders to effectively manage project deliverables, with a focus on quality and team collaboration. You will be primarily working with our airports practice but also supporting a number of our interconnected sectors, including transportation, buildings, industrial, pipelines and water teams as required. Airport experience is essential, however a broad range of electrical engineering design experience across these other sectors is advantageous. An Electrical Engineer has the interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment, work collaboratively with multiple disciplines and support a culture of safety. Through your broad consulting background, you will perform a variety of tasks which may include design & design management, business planning, project management, client account management, resource planning, proposal writing, and quality management. Your Key Responsibilities- Performs more complex engineering design tasks on assigned airport projects, under the supervision of our Lead Engineer or Project Manager, including preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports. Power distribution design. Design, Construction and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, Field Electrical Centers, regulators, cabling, remote kiosks, transformers, and other related systems. Design of Airfield installations for pulpits, AGL, approach lighting, signage. temporary lighting and floodlights. Field Quality Control and lighting level measurements Airside pavement design, investigations, and analysis. Involved in the permitting process of projects (including airport permits and municipal building permits), which may require meeting with clients, contractors and reviewing agency personnel, with the aim of seeking necessary approvals. May be responsible for the review and sealing of own projects or the work of the others. Supports the design and construction of projects, including construction supervision (as required). Supports business development activities, including proposal responses and client account planning Liaise with clients as required. Undertake project / design management of smaller discipline-specific assignments. Mentoring of and technical development of junior designers and EIT's Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Understanding and appreciation of all phases of infrastructure projects, including conventional and alternative delivery methods for public and private clients through all phases of the project life cycle. Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production. Thorough understanding of local and federal design guidelines and specifications, including TP312 5th Edition, CCDC, MMCD and Canadian NMS. Thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code. Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and stakeholders. Possesses excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources. Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. Strong understanding of relevant design software, which may include some or all of the following: Autodesk BIM 360, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and AGI32. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer. Ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience. Candidates with 3 years of experience will be considered. Stantec offers a hybrid work-from-office and/or home program. Depending on specific project needs, this position will primarily work in a hybrid office setting. Some field work may be required but will not be considered part of the primary job function. In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
