What You'll Do Support geochemical evaluations for mining, water resources, industrial, and environmental projects. Planning, implementing, and managing site investigations in cooperation with other sciences, engineering, and field services staff, including monitoring and characterization of groundwater, surface water, soils, geological materials, and wastes. Management, data validation and data quality review, statistical and graphical analysis, and interpretation and presentation of water quality and other geochemical data. Developing and refining water quality and other geochemical models, including geochemical aspects of conceptual site models and contaminant fate and transport aspects of groundwater and surface water flow and mixing models. Preparation and/or review of field sampling plans, quality assurance project plans, data quality and data validation reports, project summary reports, and other client deliverables in an efficient and effective manner. Work collaboratively with hydrogeologists, hydrologists, and engineers. What We're Looking For B.S. or M.S. in Geochemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field with a focus on aqueous geochemistry. 0-5 years of progressively responsible job experience in geochemical field data collection, site investigations and characterization, environmental geochemistry, data interpretation and analysis, and geochemical modeling. Knowledge of physical and chemical hydrology and hydrogeology concepts and applications. Experience with database, data management, and statistical tools (e.g., Excel, EnviroData, R, ProUCL). Experience with water quality and geochemical modeling codes (e.g., Geochemist's Workbench, PHREEQC). Proficiency in technical/scientific writing, graphics preparation, and technical presentations with continuous attention to detail. Ability to successfully complete tasks both independently and collaboratively. Ability to travel occasionally to project locations for client meetings and/or to conduct or supervise field work.
