Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Geologist to support mineral exploration and development programs across multiple project sites. This role is responsible for overseeing geological activities, managing field programs, and ensuring the accurate collection, interpretation, and reporting of geological data. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and field experience, with the ability to manage projects in dynamic, fast-paced mining environments while maintaining a commitment to safety and data quality.Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on all projects Ensure adherence to all company safety standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements Identify and mitigate potential safety and environmental hazards Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and field equipment Field Operations & Oversight Plan, coordinate, and oversee drilling programs (core and/or RC) Supervise core logging, sampling, and QA/QC procedures Ensure accuracy and consistency in geological data collection and documentation Provide on-site leadership and direction to field crews and junior staff Coordinate daily activities with drill contractors and field teams Geological Data & Interpretation Compile, validate, and interpret geological data (mapping, drilling, assays) Update and maintain geological models using 3D software (e.g., Leapfrog, MX Deposit, Vulcan) Identify geological trends, mineralization, and exploration targets Support resource evaluation and contribute to technical reporting Reporting & Communication Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports, summaries, and presentations Communicate findings effectively with management, clients, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain organized databases and project documentation Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and timeline management Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field (M.S. preferred) 5+ years of experience in mineral exploration or mining geology Strong background in core logging, sampling, and geologic mapping Experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, MX Deposit, Vulcan, or similar) Proven ability to manage field programs and personnel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Work Environment & Requirements Field-based role with travel to remote project locations Ability to work extended hours and rotational schedules as required Physically capable of fieldwork, including hiking and lifting equipment (up to ~50 lbs) Comfortable working in varying weather and terrain conditions What We Offer Competitive pay (DOE) and per diem.
