Job Description

Geologist /
Environmental Scientist Location:
Milwaukee, WI|

Experience:
1-5 Years The Opportunity As a Geologist at SET Engineering , you won't just be collecting samples—you'll be the "eyes and ears" on-site, driving critical environmental solutions for our commercial and industrial clients. This role offers a dynamic mix of hands-on fieldwork and high-level technical reporting, providing a clear path toward your Professional Geologist (PG) or PE licensure.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership:
Lead environmental investigation activities, including drilling oversight, soil logging, and the installation/development of groundwater monitoring wells.
Site Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
Data Analysis:
Evaluate soil, groundwater, and vapor data against state and federal cleanup standards to guide remediation strategies.
Compliance & Planning:
Develop and implement SWPPPs (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans) and SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure) plans.
Project Collaboration:
Support Project Managers in delivering high-quality work on time and within budget, while identifying opportunities for "management of change" and continuous improvement. What You Bring to the
Team Education:
BS in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related science.
Experience:
1-5 years in environmental consulting or a related field.
Technical Ambition:
EIT or GIT (Geologist in Training) certification is highly preferred; we value those working toward professional licensure.
Field Readiness:
A genuine interest in outdoor fieldwork across various weather conditions and a willingness to travel (25%-50%).
Safety First:
OSHA 40-hour
HAZWOPER
training is a major plus (though we can train the right candidate).
