Job Description
We are looking for a driven and client-focused Storm Water Compliance Field Professional in Honolulu, Hawaii, to support our storm water compliance and environmental science teams. As a part of our teams supporting our clients' programs and projects, the selected candidate will provide in-the-field construction storm water quality, environmental consulting, and inspection services.
Example tasks include:
- Performing routine storm water inspections at public and private construction projects to assess compliance with storm water, building, grading and other environmental permit requirements.
- Observing and reporting. Tasks include, but are not limited to, documenting inspection findings, documenting field discussions, following up on deficiencies, documenting corrective actions.
- Coordinating with environmental compliance personnel, project owners, and construction contractor crews as needed regarding proper storm water BMP implementation.
- Writing detailed and timely inspection reports to document site conditions, work activities, implementation of BMPs and compliance with permit requirements
- Identifying non-compliance issues identified in the field and reporting using a third party software database tool.
- 2 years of experience, as a construction or environmental inspector, field scientist, technician or similar field role.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build rapport.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools and iPad applications. Ideally, you'll also have:
- CISEC or equivalent certification, or ability to immediately become certified.
- Sediment and erosion control construction and/or storm water pollution prevention field experience.
- Prior classes, training or other education in sediment and erosion control or environmental related topics.
- Understanding of State, Federal, and City and County of Honolulu regulations and permit requirements related to the Clean Water Act.
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Sciences, Natural Resources, Engineering or a related field.
- Excellent technical writing.
- Experience with public speaking and providing training.
