Postdoctoral Scholars Department of Radiation Oncology and O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Scholarships are available in our lab with a focus on defining T cell-intrinsic mechanisms of cancer immunotherapy and radiotherapy. Specifically, we want to identify new targets for cancer interventions that can be leveraged to overcome immunotherapy resistance and prolong therapeutic effects of radiotherapy. Please refer to our publications for further information (Cell, 2016; Nat. Med., 2017; Nat. Comms., 2016, 2022, 2024, 2025). Another research area in our lab is T cell immuno-metabolism, where we published a couple of the initial studies (JEM, 2011; Immunity, 2011), with both been cited for over 2000 times. Our experimental models include genetically modified mice and disease models for various types of cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections, and inflammation. Our lab has been funded by NIH (R01, R21), DoD (Idea Award), Cancer Research Institute, V Foundation, Varian Medical System, and UAB O'Neal Invests pre-R01 grants.
