This position supports the Agency's mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone through cutting-edge research and development projects designed for high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. This is a funded remote position that may involve domestic travel (~10-20%) to support the Program needs.KEY TASKS
(1) Support an Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Program Manager with the development, funding, and management of new and existing programs to accelerate better health outcomes through leading-edge research and development (R D) projects designed for early intervention and detection in oncology (2) Conduct thorough technical scientific evaluation of the current R D landscape to identify gaps in research portfolios and address critical needs that are aligned with the ARPA-H mission. (3) Monitor and track performers progress toward established metrics. (4) Read and review complex scientific and technical data and develop team and executive level briefings for technical and non-technical audiences. (5) Integrate into an existing team to support current ARPA-H efforts and operate independently and in a group environment in support of technical R D efforts. (6) Perform basic administrative tasks such as collecting, sorting, analyzing, and writing Internal programmatic reports/briefings on relevant topics in a health-related field.KEY QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with a preference for one of the following or related fields: oncology, cancer biology, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering. (2) Minimum of 8 years of industry experience from work performed at biotechnology or biopharmaceutical companies focused on diagnostics (including point-of-care) startups or mid-cap companies (3) Expertise in medical device development (hardware and software) desired (4) Experience with regulatory affairs for oncology diagnostics and medical devices.
