Job Description AbbVie isseekinga highly motivated and experienced scientist to join ourQuantitative, Translation & ADME Sciences(QTAS)team in North Chicago.

The ideal candidate will haveastrong background andexpertisein drug metabolizing enzymefunction, drug-drug interaction concepts, quantitative bioanalysis, ability to drivecutting-edgescienceandlead a team of junior scientists. Applicants having experience in anadjacent area, such asdrugpermeability andtransport,receptor pharmacologyandpharmacokineticmodelingisdesirable. In this exciting role, you will be expected toparticipateinimplementinginnovative and quantitative approachesto advancetranslationalADMEusingconventional as well asmorecomplexin vitro models.

Working in a laboratory and non-laboratory setting, the position will involve the conductand scientific leadershipof in vitro assays as well asapplying translational modeling conceptstohelpdrive the globalin vitro ADMEstrategy at AbbVie.

The candidatewill beexpected toimplement and/or evaluatenew technologiesand approaches to support the mechanistic and translational understanding ofearly and late-stagesmall molecules tofacilitaterapid advancement ofdrug candidates in ourpipeline. In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute to broader areas within DMPK as your experience andexpertisewarrants.
Core responsibilities include:
Evaluating novel in vitro tools and methods,andapply established methodsand conceptsto enable and improve prediction ofhuman PKand drug-drug interaction potential Lead,mentorand coachjunior staffinestablished and novelpractices in vitro drug metabolism Liaise withQTAS, discovery biology/pharmacology/chemistryscientists to generate data and knowledge supporting the build-up of translational, mechanistic models Communicate internally and externally on topics related toin vitro drug metabolism Keep up to date with emerging literature and science in modelingand in vitroapproaches Externalize research in the form offull lengthpublications and oral presentations.
Qualifications BasicQualifications:
BS or equivalent education and extensive, typically 14+ years of experience; MS or equivalent education with typically 12+ years of experience; PhD with typically 6+ years of experience in area or scientific area of discipline Experiencewithin vitro ADMEexperiments andDMPKprojects, through academic or industry work. Deep understanding of drug metabolism and ADME principles including enzyme kinetics, IVIVE and DDI risk assessment Strong and relevant publication record as well asatrack recordof strategic scientific leadership in the in vitro ADMEfield Highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented person with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable to work both as team player and independent scientific contributor Passion forgenerating ideas,learning,solving technicalproblemsand applyingnew technologiesto further scientific goals.

Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,andwemayultimatelypaymore or less than the posted range. This range may bemodifiedin thefuture.
