The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and diagnostic testing. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care through precise laboratory analysis. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability within our laboratory environment. Duties Perform a wide range of complex laboratory tests on biological specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols. Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize downtime. Analyze test results meticulously, documenting findings clearly and reporting abnormal or critical results to healthcare providers in a timely manner. Implement quality control measures to ensure the validity and reliability of test outcomes, participating in regular calibration and validation procedures. Maintain detailed records of all tests conducted, adhering to confidentiality and data protection standards. Follow strict safety guidelines and infection control protocols to protect both staff and patients from potential hazards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to interpret laboratory data and support clinical decision-making. Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and best practices through ongoing professional development. Experience Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution; certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent is required. Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting with proficiency in performing diagnostic tests across various disciplines such as hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, or immunology. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR) for efficient data management. Strong understanding of quality assurance standards, safety regulations, and accreditation requirements relevant to medical laboratories. Excellent attention to detail coupled with analytical thinking skills necessary for accurate test interpretation. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high levels of precision and professionalism. Effective communication skills for clear reporting of results and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
