Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Medical Technology Medical Laboratory Science Clinical Laboratory Science Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science Copy of transcripts required Work Experience No prior experience required New graduates welcome to apply for this Clinical/Medical Lab Scientist position Licensure and Certifications Current state laboratory license, if applicable ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist ASCP-certified Clinical/Medical Lab Scientists (on or after January 1, 2004) must meet Certification Maintenance Program requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient computer skills for data entry and laboratory information systems Experience with Windows-based applications and keyboarding Strong verbal and written communication skills Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities Good judgment and professionalism Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations Key Responsibilities The Clinical/Medical Lab Scientist will: Perform and interpret routine and specialized laboratory testing accurately and independently Conduct quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting Identify and resolve out-of-control results, escalating issues as needed Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards Follow safety guidelines, OIG requirements, and proficiency testing protocols Participate in performance improvement activities and data collection Support cost control by managing laboratory supplies and reagents Adapt communication and behavior to meet patient needs while respecting privacy Other related duties may be assigned.
