Position Summary The Medical Science Liaison/Senior MSL acts as a highly experienced scientific expert and strategic partner within the Medical Affairs organization. This regional role is responsible for leading scientific engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs) academic medical centers and healthcare professionals, driving advanced medical education initiatives, and providing strategic insights to shape clinical development and medical strategy. The (Senior) MSL also mentors and trains junior MSLs and leads initiatives that align with the medical affairs strategy, including education, research, congress planning, publications, and cross-functional collaboration. This role focuses on building strong scientific relationships, providing clinical and educational support, and ensuring the appropriate dissemination of medical and scientific information to advance evidence-based medicine and patient care. This is a field‑based role supporting the Northeast Region (CT, MA, ME, NH, NYC (and some surrounding portions of the state), RI, VT). The role requires up to 50% travel within the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Scientific Exchange & Education Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and academic institutions within regional territory Provide balanced, scientific information on company products, disease states, and therapeutic areas. Communicate with payors and formulary committees pre- and post-approval in accordance with FDA guidance, collaborating with market access and key account teams.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., NP, PA, RN, MD, or equivalent) required.
Experience:
Experience in Medical Affairs or relevant therapeutic area and 3- 5 years prior experience as an MSL preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and medical affairs. Expertise with KOL engagement and stakeholder management skills. This role requires up to 50% travel and reports to the National Director, Field Medical Affairs and MSL Team Lead.Similar jobs in Boston, MA
