Job Description

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary A Staff Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John DiPersio, with direct reporting to Dr. Jerry Xiang. This position is part of a translational cell therapy program focused on advancing next-generation immunotherapies from discovery through IND-enabling studies and clinical translation. The successful candidate will work at the interface of discovery and translation, contributing to projects involving CRISPR/Cas9 gene-edited CAR-T cell therapy for hematologic malignancies. Ongoing efforts are directed toward IND-enabling studies, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing cell therapies from bench to clinic. The Staff Scientist will assist in developing and supporting the design and execution of wet- and dry-lab experiments, including the generation and functional evaluation of engineered immune cells in preclinical mouse models. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to projects with direct clinical impact. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Following instructions and discussions with the principal investigator, designs research protocols, including developing procedures for the collection, verification and management of data. Assists with grant preparation and reporting. Performs complex statistical analysis of data collected and writes interpretative reports. Verifies the correctness of the data submitted and makes recommendations based on these analyses. Documents research topics and prepares and submits papers based on research work to publications and committees for publication or presentation to peers. Solves practical problems relating to difficulties with equipment or test subjects. Suggests technical or procedural improvements in testing methods. Conducts literature searches related to research project. Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
