Medical Affairs Summer Internship (PharmD Students
Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting Medical Affairs projects while learning from experienced medical and scientific professionals.
This is a Nutley-based Internship within our Medical Affairs Department. Our Hybrid Work Schedule in office days are Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays. The duration of the internship is 12 weeks. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy (PharmD program), preferably having completed at least one professional year. What You Will Learn

- Understand the role and impact of Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry
- Learn how clinical evidence is evaluated and communicated
- Develop foundational skills in medical writing and scientific presentations
- Observecross-functional collaboration withotherteams, including Market Access, Commercial, Clinical, etc.
- Explore career pathways within Medical Affairs Key Responsibilities and Sample Projects
- Support development of disease state or therapeutic area overview materials
- Summarize and analyze primary medical literature
- Assist with medical information-style responses under supervision
- Contribute todigitalsocial medialistening and content creation
- Conduct literature searches in support of Medical Affairs initiatives
- Participatein AIhuman-in-the-loop implementation and testing
- Participatein team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities Internship Structure
- Orientation and compliance training at the start of the program
- Project-based work with defined deliverables
- Regular mentorship check-ins with Medical Affairs professionals
- Educational sessions covering various Medical Affairs roles
- End-of-program capstone presentation to Medical Affairs leadership
Qualifications Required:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program
- Completion of first professional year (P1) by internship start
- Strong interest in Medical Affairs or the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to interpret,analyze,and summarize scientific literature
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Interest inMedical Affairs,scientificcommunications, orother Pharmacistindustry roles
- Experience with literature evaluation or presentations What You Will Gain
