Job Summary/Description:
KOSA/First Alert 7/Telemundo 20 is searching for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and engaging meteorologist to join Odessa's market-leading First Alert Weather team. The Meteorologist will work closely with the Chief Meteorologist, news managers, and producers to provide comprehensive daily weather forecasts and severe weather coverage on all of our platforms. The right candidate must be bilingual and able to provide forecasting in both English and Spanish. The compensation is based on experience. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Analyze weather data and prepare accurate, informative forecasts focused on the First Alert and Next Weather Maker
- Use WSI graphic systems to create content supporting the forecast and prepare for a variety of presentations
- Cover severe and breaking weather situations across all platforms
- Develop and post unique weather content to station website, social media accounts, and apps
- Flexibility in scheduling to cover severe weather or fill in for other weather team members
- Responsible for creating original/creative content for our digital platforms daily
- Responsible for creating engaging weather content on our social media accounts
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field required, preferred
