https://www.tcog.com/employment Job Overview The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is designed to help low-income household clients control their energy costs through installation of weatherization materials and education. The program goal is to reduce the energy cost burden of low-income households through energy efficiency. Texoma Council of Governments is a sub-recipient of Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and collectively provides service to 19 counties within the State of Texas. Summary of Position The Weatherization Specialist provides advanced customer service , determines eligibility, daily/monthly logs, schedules Inspectors, prepares invoices, and reviews work orders for clients. Works under limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities At-a-Glance Eligibility & Intake:
Collects required documents, verifies citizenship and energy utility ESID numbers, and issues approval or denial letters.
Client Support:
Answers questions, explains assigned work orders to homeowners, and resolves any program or service issues.
Inspector Scheduling:
Coordinates weekly between clients, contractors, and inspectors for initial, final, and Quality Control Inspections (QCI).
Log Tracking:
Maintains status lists and monthly records (e.g., contractor comparison sheets and inspection logs).
Billing & Reporting:
Prepares contractor pay sheets, processes check requests, and completes Building Weatherization Reports (BWRs) based on completed inspections.
