Duties Help Analyzes climic regimes, geography, terrain, weher system characteristics, centralized weher products, and indigenous surface and upper air reports to forecast weher conditions for takeoff, enroute, and destinions, and air refueling tracks for locions worldwide. Discusses the locion, intensity, movement and development potential of weher feures. Solves a variety of meteorological problems with other production personnel. Modifies forecasts developed by other activities to provide informion on exact conditions expected to be encountered by the aircraft for projected timeframe for the area of operion. Observes weher phenomena, encodes and records the observion following established Air Force instructions and guides using computer-based systems in the weher stion.

Conditions of Employment:

Work may require occasional travel away from normal duty stion. May be required to work roting shifts, irregular hours, and be subject to recall to support unscheduled weher support requirements any time. May be require access to classified Secret informion. Must be able to acquire a Secret clearance. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: To qualify for the

level, you must have least 1-year equivalent to least next lower grade level experience, educion, or training in applying principles and procedures of various meteorological models and forecasting techniques. Expert in analysis of climic regimes, geography, terrain feures, weher system characteristics, centralized weher products, and indigenous surface and upper-air reports to produce mission-critical forecasts. Experienced in advising aircrews on weher impacts for takeoff, enroute operions, and destinion conditions within the Area of Responsibility. Candide must be proficient in identifying, evaluing, and integring high-quality da sources to produce meteorological briefs utilizing communicions channels and meteorological equipment, ensuring seamless delivery of automed bulletins and live, interactive weher products. Experience executing advanced meteorological analyses to solve forecasting challenges, interpret and adapt standard guidelines to develop mission-specific procedures for special flight operions and base weher stions. Candide must be willing to participe and innove in guiding a nional level certificion process providing instruction on meteorological tools and techniques. Experience observing, encoding, recording, dissemining, and evaluing weher observions such as using Air Force Meteorological systems such as Bifrost and AFWEBS. Educion If you are using Educion to qualify for this position, two full years of gradue educion or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-9. One year of full-time gradue educion is considered to be the number of credit hours th the school tended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If th informion cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as sisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time gradue educion is creditable in accordance with its relionship to a year of full-time study the school tended.
