Opportunity:
This position is ideal for candidates between positions, consultants, recent graduates with relevant food manufacturing experience, or professionals seeking a temporary opportunity to expand their experience within the food industry. What You'll Do As a QA Microbiologist , you will play an important role in ensuring product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance by performing microbiological testing and supporting quality assurance initiatives. Responsibilities Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, potable water, and environmental samples. Conduct aseptic laboratory analyses to verify compliance with product specifications. Perform environmental monitoring and sanitation verification testing. Accurately document laboratory results using laboratory logs and JD Edwards. Support product disposition activities, including product holds, retesting, and product release according to established procedures. Assist with investigations involving out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement corrective actions as directed. Coordinate environmental and finished product sample submissions to third-party laboratories and maintain complete testing records. Monitor laboratory inventory and ensure testing supplies remain adequately stocked. Support Research & Development with microbiological testing of new products as needed. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Sanitation, and R D teams to support food safety and quality initiatives. Follow all GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and company food safety policies and procedures. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline. 1-2 years of microbiology laboratory experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques and microbiological testing procedures. Experience performing environmental monitoring is preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
