The desired candidate will be responsible for routine microbiological testing at various client locations in addition to performing internal duties for the operation of our laboratory. The day to day workload will comprise of traveling to and from client locations and performing testing at their facilities. It is required for the candidate to drive their own reliable car (the candidate will be reimbursed for mileage and paid their hourly wages while driving). Returning the samples back to our Lab and processing said samples. Other tasks throughout the day may include Lab work such as sample processing, preventative maintenance of equipment, and taking inventory of stock. On the job training is required and will be provided. Validation Systems Inc. is a dynamic contract laboratory offering a range of services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries including, routine environmental monitoring, compressed gas sampling and analysis, and water sampling and analysis. Any experience in a pharmaceutical, biologics, bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing, diagnostics, or medical device company laboratory is a plus. The candidate will be responsible for: Water testing Membrane Filtration TOC and Conductivity Analysis Endotoxin Gel Clot Environmental Monitoring of Laminar Flow Hood Aseptic Techniques Growth Promotion of Media Enumeration of plates Gram Staining Preventative Maintenance of Lab equipment Maintaining cleanliness of the Labs Shipping and Receiving of Lab supplies and Equipment Filing documents Occasional Couriering of samples 1 year experience of Microbiology is preferred. Please, no PhD candidates. Must currently live within 15-20 miles of Palo Alto, CA A Bachelor's degree in a relevant life sciences discipline is necessary. Emphasis in Microbiology is preferred. Able to lift equipment weighing 30 lbs. Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, take direction, and conduct oneself in a mature, professional manner.
