College of Medicine Job Summary A temporary postdoctoral researcher will be hired in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology Essential Functions The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for: Independently researching, designing, and performing experimentation on multiple projects Taking direction from the PI and collaborators to complete research objectives Performing molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, plasmid isolation, genomic DNA/RNA isolation, DNA Sequencing (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore), virus production Assisting in CRISPR experimentation - transfection of RNPs and viral transductions Performing tissue culture on adherent and suspension cells Performing cellular assays including but not limited to Western immunoblotting, flow cytometry Performing all work in a BSL2 or BSL3 environment Maintain and update paper and electronic laboratory notebooks Compile, organize, and process data in various software including Microsoft Office, PRISM, FlowJo, a dn lite computational data analysis in Python Writing manuscripts, grants, and progress reports Required Qualifications Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Biology Minimum of 1 year of experience. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
