Job Description

This position independently oversees the daily operations of the water system for the District. This role is responsible for water system repairs, monthly billing process, A/R, A/P and maintaining district budget and documentation; maps, status reports, and financial records. The duties of this position include the management of infrastructure projects by coordinating with Engineers, material suppliers and contractors. The minimum required knowledge of one year in the use of materials, methods, tools and equipment, used in the repair, maintenance and construction, preferably in water systems. Exposure to billing, collection, budgets, financial statements and customer service is desired. Two-year certificate or some college is preferred. This position requires being on call 24/7 when scheduled. Reside no more than 50 minute response time to Maple Hill, KS.
Require:
A valid drivers license, background check & MVR, drug screen. Work Activities Walk or drive to read water consumption meters monthly and upload data into office computer. Inspect meters for unauthorized connections, defects, and damage and make necessary repairs. Verify readings in cases where consumption appears to be abnormal, & record possible reasons for fluctuations. Provide service for problems, such as meter irregularities, damaged equipment, or impediments to meter access. Connect and disconnect utility services at specific locations. Answer customers' questions about services and charges. Update client address and meter location information.
On-call duties:
Line locate-Dig SAFE (Kansas One Call) Daily duties: Conduct daily chlorine residue test (KDHE) and monitor water in system/usage.
Weekly duties:
Read in-line meters-for leak detection.
Bi-monthly duties:
Obtain coliform (TCR) samples Forbes Field- KDHE Lab (KDHE) Yearly duties include:
TTHM & FAA5
Samples Forbes Field- KDHE (KDHE). Consumer confidence report (CCR) (KDHE). Water usage report (KS Bureau of Water).
