JOB SUMMARY
Lab aide will assist in preparing and analyzing samples examining radionuclide partitioning in waste treatment systems. This project will specifically examine partitioning of actinides in nuclear legacy waste streams from the Hanford Reservation and
SRS. JOB DUTIES

  • Non-Essential
  • Prepare samples for batch sorption testing of radionuclide uptake. This will involve weighing out samples for uptake testing, preparing stock solutions, and working solutions. 25%
  • Non-Essential
  • Spectroscopic and microscopic evaluation of samples. Samples prepared for batch testing will be taken for electron microscopy, Raman, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to examine chemical speciation. 25%

  • Data processing and analysis.
Data collected from laboratory efforts will be placed into a database for modeling and analysis.

28 COMPENSATION
INFORMATION
Hourly pay rate: $15 per hour Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
