Job Description

IMPORTANT NOTE
This opportunity is ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge participants on active duty who are
AT LEAST 11 MONTHS AWAY
from separation. DoD SkillBridge interns receive their active-duty salary during their internship participation.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The prospective intern will learn expert-level analyses and threat assessments of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) materials utilizing detection systems using data generated in the CBP national security and countermeasure programs. This position requires professional knowledge of chemistry, biology, physics, or experience in various specialized fields such as explosives, drugs, and nuclear-biological-chemical (NBC) warfare, with special emphasis on radiological spectra analysis. This internship will increase the participant's understanding of CBP operations and provide relevant opportunities to support agency objectives. The CBRNE Physical Scientist will be part of the team providing direct 24/7 reach back to frontline officers and agents within CBP, DHS, and across the United States.
