Boise, ID Pay rate: $140-$160/hr Job Overview Join our dedicated oncology team as a Medical Physicist , where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy for cancer patients. You will work closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to oversee treatment planning, calibrate advanced linear accelerators, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering high-precision, patient-centered care across a range of modalities, including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a technology-driven, collaborative environment that values scientific rigor, safety, and compassionate patient care. Responsibilities Oversee treatment planning by reviewing and optimizing radiation dose distributions to maximize tumor control while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues and organs at risk Calibrate and maintain linear accelerators, CT simulators, and other equipment, ensuring all systems function within regulatory and safety standards before each clinical use Perform comprehensive quality assurance (QA) on treatment machines, imaging systems, and treatment planning software (e.g., Eclipse, Pinnacle, or Monaco) in compliance with AAPM and ACR guidelines Conduct patient-specific QA for complex deliveries such as IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT, verifying dose accuracy through measurements using phantoms and ion chambers Monitor and analyze radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff, including shielding design, exposure audits, and adherence to ALARA principles Support special procedures such as HDR brachytherapy, TBI (Total Body Irradiation), and stereotactic radiosurgery, performing real-time dose calculations and machine adjustments Document and report machine performance, QA results, and patient dose data in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Aria, Mosaiq, or similar oncology-specific platforms
