The Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Flint is looking to hire. This position is open to experienced ABR or ABMP certified Medical Physicists. The successful candidate will preferably have over 5 years of work experience and has been on HDR brachytherapy license during their career. Compensation is based on experience and is competitive. This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physicist looking to advance their career at a comprehensive cancer care center. The position is part of a core team of 4 physicists and two physics residents that are responsible for supporting Radiation Oncology in the newly expanded and renovated Cancer Center in Flint and two nearby satellite centers. Essential Responsibilities Acceptance and commissioning of LINAC Implementation of clinical stereotactic program Radiation therapy equipment calibration, quality assurance Collaboration with clinical and medical staff on simulation and treatment planning. Provide ongoing oversight of quality and safety of patient treatment delivery Participation in department quality assurance and continuous quality improvement programs. Participation in clinical research efforts Collaborates in network physics initiatives
Required:
Master's or PhD degree in medical physics or related discipline. Certified in therapeutic medical physics from American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent certification from Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). Two years of experience as a medical physicist in a full-service radiation therapy center including residency
Preferred:
Five years of work experience in a full-service radiation therapy center after receiving board certification in therapeutic medical physics. Inclusion on HDR brachytherapy license currently or in the past
