Job Description
Rad Oncology Staff Physicist Corewell Health United States, Michigan, Royal Oak Apr 20, 2026 Scope of Work The Staff Physicist works within the Department of Radiation Oncology. They report to the Chief of Physics and work under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Physics and Medical Physicist Ld. They perform and review all aspects of radiotherapy patient and equipment related planning and quality assurance. The primary responsibility of the Staff Physicist is to assure the best possible treatment is provided to the patients in Radiation Oncology. The Staff Physicist in Radiation Oncology responsibilities will include clinical service, research/development and education/training based on the assignments from the Chief of Physics and Director of Clinical Physics.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education /Training:
Master's degree or PhD degree in physics, medical physics or related field or Doctorate of Medical Physics or demonstrated equivalency through experience as well as being listed as an Authorized Medical Physicist (AMP) on a Nuclear Regulatory License (NRC).Work Experience:
Completion of a CAMPEP approved Medical Physics residency program in Radiation Oncology or 1- 2 years' experience in a related field desirable.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
Certification in therapeutic medical physics (or therapeutic radiological physics or radiological physics) by either: American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medial Physics. Or must complete certification within three years of hire or must be classified as an AMP by the NRC.
