Job Description

A small, collaborative medical physics contract group is seeking to hire a Medical Physicist for on-site radiation oncology work in Charlottesville, Virginia. The successful candidate will join a team of four (4) experienced, board-certified medical physicists in a highly supportive environment built around teamwork and shared clinical responsibility. Physicists within the group work closely together on daily clinical coverage, special procedures, commissioning projects, process improvement, and major departmental projects. This position offers significant flexibility, including a negotiable schedule and total annual work effort, with the possibility of total annual effort between 70-100% FTE. The clinical programs managed by the group include advanced treatment techniques such as IMRT, SBRT, SRS, and LDR brachytherapy. Sites covered include both Elekta equipment (Mosaiq, VersaHD, Infinity) and Varian Equipment (Eclipse/Aria, TrueBeam). Multiple commissioning projects are projected in the upcoming 2 years. The department is also involved in radiation therapy student education and active in regional AAPM chapter functions. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, communicative, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to patient safety and treatment quality. ABR board certification is preferred; board eligibility is required. Board-eligible candidates are encouraged to apply and will benefit from strong mentorship and close collaboration with experienced physicists. $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
