R D Operations Manager (Chemicals / Polymers)

Northern New Jersey (Onsite) Full-time, onsite (Monday-Friday) Overview A growing, privately held chemical manufacturing company is seeking an experienced R D Operations Manager to lead laboratory operations and drive product innovation. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to executive leadership, with ownership over R D, quality control, and product commercialization. Key Responsibilities Lead R D efforts including new product development and formulation improvements Oversee lab operations, QC, and scale-up into manufacturing Manage and mentor a small technical team Collaborate cross-functionally with production, sales, suppliers, and customers Support technical discussions with clients and contribute to product recommendations Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols Drive product commercialization and continuous innovation Qualifications 6+ years of experience in chemical R D , preferably in adhesives or polymer formulations Experience with epoxies, urethanes, acrylics, silicones, or similar materials Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field Proven ability to scale formulations into manufacturing Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach gmvs
