Hybrid What you will do The Lab Services Senior Scientist works toward the identification, assessment and development of new scientific concepts and technologies. The position works independently to perform research of a complex nature where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various identifiable factors in one or more areas. This person practices continuous improvement in the development of new or refined materials, processes, products and/or scientific procedures. He/she ensures quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review, and adherence to applicable regulations. The Senior Scientist makes decisions regarding analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and arriving at timely technical decisions. This position modifies methodology to improve the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of data, accurately records information obtained in projects, and ensures that records and raw data are properly retained.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day activities as listed below, ensuring compliance and training to all associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Write and implement area SOPs, Validation Master Plans / Protocols, Global Change Controls, Investigations and Corrective Actions as needed or appropriate Execute operational efficiency improvements, across R D Operations / Centralization work processes Manage the lab / equipment / purchasing / shipping and other operational services daily, which include, but are not limited to: Purchasing / Purchase Order Management Purchasing of all items intended for the Summit laboratories, including, but not limited to: consumables, chemicals, equipment Management of all purchase orders, including generation, accrual, tracking and closure Lab Services / Warehousing Management of all lab services, including, but not limited to: Cleaning of lab spaces and equipment as needed or appropriate Glassware distribution and cleaning Sample shipment (domestic and international) Inventory management of all consumables and chemicals intended for use at the Summit site, including, but not limited to: receipt, reconciliation, storage, supply stocking and kitting, chemical dispensing Co-own the controlled substances program including control, dispense and distribution (internally) Purified Water System Management of the PWS distribution system including but not limited to: sanitization, sampling, calibration and preventative maintenance What we are looking for
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or 10+ years of experience Minimum 5 years of business experience in managing or leading projects or departments R D / Scientific experience Experience in working in cross-functional team Experience in the consumer goods industry or research and development Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Comfortable challenging the status quo to drive for better outcomes Skilled at driving difficult conversations What's in it for you Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges: $90,100.00 - $127,200.00 This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
