Job Summary:
The Prospect Research Analyst II identifies and provides research information on individual, corporation, and foundation major gift prospects to assist individuals within and outside the University who conduct University advancement programs. The research provided by this position is vital to the successful advancement activities of the President, Vice President for University vancement, Associate Vice President for Development, and Deans and vancement/Development Officers in the University's colleges, schools, and other divisions. ditional
Department Summary:
Identifies and provides research information on high-level individual, corporation, and foundation major gift prospects. Prioritizes due diligence reputation research of principal ($5 million+) donors and prospects or donors and prospects assigned to the University President or other high ranking University officials. Assists individuals within and outside the University who conduct University advancement programs. The research provided by this position is vital to the successful advancement activities of the President, Vice President for University vancement, Associate Vice President for Development, Deans, and vancement/Development Officers in the University's colleges, schools, and other divisions. Completes research that informs the prospect strategy with the University's most generous donors and significant supporters.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree.
Skills and Knowledge:
High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in researching donors. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with an array of individuals. Ability to provide training to junior analysts. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with various backgrounds and experiences. Must possess strong editing skills and be detail oriented. Strong computer skills, including the ability to assess new software and services. Self-motivated and well organized. Must have some research related coursework. Ability to maintain strict standard of confidentiality. Knowledge of the range of resources available to prospect researchers and the ability to apply those resources in an organized and purposeful manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience to include one (1) year of prospect management and/or research experience; OR master's degree and some prospect management and/or research experience. Experience in prospect research, prospect management, development, library research, or an information-related field, preferably in a higher education environment.
